WCVA LEAP Project

OVERALL AIM OF THE PROJECT

MTIB’s LEAP project aims to provide you with  training & support to enable you to move towards or into employment.

PROJECT FUNDING

WCVA (Wales Council for Voluntary Action) Active Inclusion Fund.

AM I ELIGIBLE?

• Yes if you are over 25 
• Yes if you have been unemployed over 12 months or economically inactive ( ESA, Income support benefits)
• Yes if you live in Merthyr Tydfil, RCT, Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, NPT or Swansea
• Yes if you have a disability, mental health issues or a health condition and require additional support

Note - If you live in a Community First / Communities for Work area we will require confirmation from them but you can still access the project

WHAT WILL I GET OUT OF THE PROJECT?

• Support from specialist Employment & Training Officers who have a wealth of experience in working with individuals with disabilities,   mental health issues and health conditions
• The opportunity to attend group sessions where peer group support will be encouraged
• Access to volunteering opportunities, work placements and paid employment on our Achieve part of the project
• Opportunity and encouragement to develop confidence levels, self-esteem and motivation
• Specialist advice and guidance on disability 
  disclosure to employers
• Support to develop job seeking skills, e.g. interview skills, application forms, CV and IT for work search
• The opportunity to gain recognised 
  qualifications e.g. CIEH Level 2 Food Safety 

WHAT WILL IT INVOLVE

• Weekly group or 1-2-1 sessions
• Job clubs
• Individual support
• Employer engagement
• Accredited training courses
• Paid work placements

SUPPORT

MTIB can provide transport to and from the venue as well as other access support.
