WORK CHOICE

MTIB is an established provider of employment support for people with health conditions and disabilities. Our experienced advisors work with our customers to identify and develop skills for work and market these to local employers. We have a dedicated Employer Engagement team who work with our large network of supportive employers and together we match customers to employers whilst considering support needs.

Work Choice is a government funded programme and MTIB is a subcontractor to Shaw Trust in the delivery of the programme in Merthyr, Blaenau Gwent and Caerphilly. Referrals are made via the jobcentre and once a referral is made, an MTIB advisor will contact you to arrange our Initial Assessment. This is an opportunity to find out more about you and what support needs you have. During this meeting, we determine if Work Choice is for you and if you want to participate. We agree an action plan with weekly activities and arrange for your weekly job club attendance at MTIB.

MTIB’s excellent facilities offer an informal learning environment where we deliver job clubs and sessions to develop work search skills and to get to know you better. We offer transport for our customers to access our job clubs and strive to remove any barriers in order to help you to return to work.

As MTIB also operates a Supported Business – a commercial wood working business – we can offer both placements and supported employment opportunities internally, if this is suitable for you. This will be discussed with you and your advisor.
